2. Who has appointed each elder/overseer/pastor to serve in the local church? Why is this so significant?

3. J. Oswald Sanders says, “Spiritual leaders are not made by election … Spiritual leadership is a thing of the Spirit and is conferred by God alone.”

Why is this observation so crucial?

4. Elders are faced with two imperatives in Acts 20:28.

1) “Pay careful attention to yourselves.”

2) “Pay careful attention to the flock.”

Why are these imperatives so critically important?
